The Proposal: Carin was away from their NYC home attending an artists’ residency at the outerwordly Haystack in Deer Isle, Maine. Nelle hired us to photograph and film their proposal. She already planned to - unbeknownst to Carin - fly not only herself to Maine the day of Carin’s final showcase, but also ensured that Carin’s twin sister would be there to be a part of the story too. But in order to make us make sense, she let Carin know that she hired us to document the incredible work she created during her time in Maine. We spent the first bit of time getting to know Carin and her pieces, before Amy (her sister) showed up (seemingly out of nowhere) and led Carin down an incredibly dramatic set of stairs to Nelle waiting for her by the water.
